3月15日 Obama: Does a President's Pastor Matter?And now for a rare political thought: Sitting under a pastor's preaching for 20 years cannot but affect a person's thinking. What kind of candidate would sit under preaching that calls upon God to damn America? How can a public official, called upon to defend our borders and secure justice for all people, sit under a preacher who wants God to damn the country? This is exactly what Barack Obama has been doing by keeping his membership at Jeremiah Wright's church. It sounds dangerously inconsistent to me. 20 years of faithful attendance is an endorsement of a ministry and a message. If he disagreed with the theology, he should have left rather than supporting this ministry. Make Known His DeedsThere are three possibilities with the Great Commission. You can go. You can send. Or you can be disobedient. Ignoring the cause is not a Christian option. If we love God's fame and are committed to magnifying his name above all things, we cannot be indifferent to world missions. Over and over we read this in the Bible - that God does what he does so "that [his] name might be proclaimed in all the earth."
